School Sporting Program

The GC. Compound offers students access to one of the largest sporting complexes specifically designed for use by skate-boarders, BMX riders, mountain bikers, scooter riders, roller-skaters and roller-bladers in Australia.  The GC. Compound is an innovative concept that targets an existing and growing market.  The focus of The GC. Compound business is to support youth in the community by providing them with a constructive and safe way to spend their spare time and stay healthy and active.

The GC. Compound commissioned professional BMX rider Tim Wood (rampconstruction.com) to help design and construct all ramps, (engineered and certified) thus providing an unique and challenging facility for all abilities/ages from beginners to advanced.  All participants will now have an amazing venue in which to train or receive tuition if required so they can continue to develop their abilities. GC. Compound in conjunction with several major sponsors will be hosting regular competitions for riders to showcase their amazing skills. This will be an important part of showcasing and developing the talent of  young Australian riders offering fantastic prizes.

Recently we held our first Scooter/BMX competition which was an outstanding success. We were supported in this by many major sponsors such as Red Bull, Unit, Colony Bikes, HelensVALE BMX, LKI, MirraCo, Whata Slushee, Sikkair and XRated Helmets all of who contributed large sums of money and goods for competitor prizes.

We have also in conjunction with the local Coomera Police (Constable Jay Prothero) and the GC. Compound we have developed a programme to provide positive reinforcement for local children and encourage the wearing of safety helmets while riding their bikes, scooter, skateboards etc. We will introduce a competition by which police etc will give out (raffle) tickets to any person seen doing the right thing e.g. riding safely, wearing a helmet . When this occurs they will hand out a special raffle ticket which then needs to be place into the raffle draw box at GC. Compound for drawing on a specified date. Prizes on offer will consist of new bikes, scooters, clothing and helmets all supplied by local sponsors. Once a winner has been drawn they will be presented with their prize at school in front of peers to further reinforce safe helmet use and riding within the community.

Prizes on offer will be displayed at the GC. Compound. Only tickets given by Police will be eligible for entry in draw and family and staff  of GC. Compound will obviously be excluded from this promotion.

We also hope this initiative will be adopted more widely as it proves successful in changing the negative perception associated with wearing helmets etc. Any other community and safety initiative suggested by local authorities will also be supported by GC. Compound Pty Ltd.

We at The GC. Compound would like to offer our facility as an alternative sporting venue for selected students. For a special price of $10 per student per session we will provide a supervised, safe, controlled environment in which students can train and develop their skills. In future with more school adopting this sports facility we hope to hold regular competitions with seating available for 400 people this would be a perfect all weather venue to show case students abilities.`
